Retired Army Sergeant First Class with 20 years of active duty.

Graduated the Army’s Infantry School, Ranger School, Battle Staff, and the Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer Academy.

SFC Phillips earned his Associate's Degree in Science from Hodges University.

He enlisted as an Army Infantryman with an initial assignment in Germany. There he served as Team Leader, Radio Telephone Operator, and Machine Gunner.

He fought in Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and United Nations Protected Forces in Macedonia.

His last assignment was at Fort Stewart as a Platoon Sergeant, Platoon Leader, and Operations Sergeant Major.

SFC Phillips taught Corporate Team Building Skills to numerous high level Companies, i.e. Dell and Pepsi-Co. ​  He also served with the Naples Police Department.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star with Valor, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, the Ranger Tab, Expert Infantry Badge, Combat Infantry Badge with Star, Recruiting Badge, and Driver's Badge.

SFC Phillips is the Rifle Team, Drill Team, and Raider coach/advisor.  He is in his 10th year of teaching at Naples High School JROTC.


In 2015, SFC Phillips was awarded the top level Army JROTC teaching award, the Gold Instructor Award,  for demonstrating the highest degree of excellence as a JROTC instructor. 


In 2016, SFC Phillips was awarded the Collier County Teacher of the Year Honor for his commitment, service and dedication to  all students.  His professionalism and expertise inspires his cadets on a daily basis and we are proud to have him here at Naples High School!
