To provide a quality citizenship, character, and leadership development program, while fostering partnerships with communities and educational institutions.
Program of Instruction
Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) is the largest youth program, with an accredited curriculum, in high school. It serves as a character and leadership development program for our nation’s high school students. High school students enrolled in JROTC are “cadets.” There are approximately 314,000 cadets enrolled in JROTC in 1,731 high schools, led by 4,000 retired Army instructors.

I am an Army Junior ROTC cadet.
I will always conduct myself to bring credit to my family, country, school, and the corps of cadets.
I am loyal and patriotic. I am the future of the United States of America.
I do not lie, cheat or steal. I will always be held accountable for my actions and deeds.
I will always practice good citizenship and patriotism.
I will work hard to improve my mind and strengthen my body.
I will seek the mantle of leadership and stand prepared to uphold the Constitution and the American way of life.

JROTC Curriculum and Syllabi
JROTC is designed to teach high school students the value of citizenship, leadership, service to the community, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment, while instilling in them self esteem, teamwork, and self discipline.

As part of the curriculum, a cadet will follow a unique syllabus based on their Leadership, Education, & Training (LET) level. Each cadet starts at LET 1, regardless of their grade level and progresses through LET levels as they continue the program throughout their high school career. Below are the syllabus for each LET level.
Uniforms
In JROTC, cadets are required to wear a uniform (on select dates or as requested by instructors) and are graded based on its appearance. The uniform has certain requirements pertaining to placements of objects that are pinned to the uniform. Below are pictures to help cadets set up their uniforms. Click any of the images to enhance.

Awards and Promotion
Cadets earn awards based on achievements, participation, and recognition for actions they accomplish within the program and at our annual JROTC Awards Night. Most award ribbons are placed in a certain order depending on the significance of the award. See ribbon sorter below. Test your knowledge with the ribbon sorter game below.
Cadets are required to study the promotion packet in order to move up in rank through promotion boards. To pass the boards and move up in rank, a cadet must know a series of information in the promotion packet depending on the cadet's rank. See promotion packet below.

Another way cadets can increase rank standing is to be chosen to do the Cadet of the Quarter (COTQ). Cadets are chosen to participate in a special promotion board with advanced questions while competing against other cadets. The cadet with the highest score is awarded a COTQ tab that is placed on the cadet's uniform and a rank promotion. See COTQ packet below.
